Brian H. Neely
Brian Neely is a 1979 graduate of Tupelo high School. He is a 1983 graduate of Boston University with a B.A. degree in history, and a 1987 graduate of Southern Methodist Universitly School of Law.
After graduation from law school, Brian H. Neely landed a highly competitive clerkship with the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi in Aberdeen, MS. He worked there until he joined the United States Marine Corps. During his Marine Corps service, Brian H. Neely was promoted to the rank of Captain and served during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm as a Casualty Coordinating Officer.
After leaving the military Brian H. Neely worked as an associate attorney for the prestigious Lake, Tindall law firm in Greenville, MS until he decided to return to his hometown of Tupelo, MS. In 1994, he engaged in the practice of law as a sole practitioner in Tupelo. While practicing law he served as Lee County Prosecuting Attorney in 2003, where he was responsible for the disposition of all misdemeanor cases for the county. He also served as Youth Court Prosecutor during this time.
Brian H. Neely is an active member in the community as well. He has served as a motivational speaker throughout the Lee County School System and initiated the first annual law day in partnership with Nettleton High School. This program allows selected students to meet local judges, administrators, and clerks, to view trials, and to participate in a mock trial. Along with this, Brian H. Neely is a member of the Board of Directors of North Mississippi Rural Legal Services and serves as the Chair of the Audit Committee. He also is a member of the Veterans Memorial Executive Board, Veterans Activity Committee. Brian H. Neely has also partnered with the University of Mississippi in their summer intern program and sponsored numerous law student clerkships. Brian H. Neely is licensed in Mississippi and Tennessee.
